Brunner Family

Brunner Family

You might recognize Rachel from these Senior Portraits.  I was lucky enough to photograph the entire family last month.

Here is one example of a Holiday Card that you can order through the studio.  Click on the picture below to see a larger version, and many more designs are here.

Andrews Family

Andrews Family

My friend, Angie, and I are swapping family portraits this year.  I’m so excited!  I adore her work and feel like I definitely got the good end of this stick.  🙂

We shot her family first, and she always has the best ideas.  You might remember this awesome shoot when she was expecting her fourth baby.  She’s full of creativity, this one.

This year, she was inspired by a shoot she found on Pintrest.  You see, Angie is an artist.  She’s an AMAZING designer and photographer.  Her husband is a photographer right along side her, and her kids are little artists as well.  This shot fit her perfectly.

But first, we shot a regular family portrait by an old family bike Angie found in a garage.  What a find!

Here’s the awesomeness.  She was smart and painted all of their clothes at home the night before.  Then, we got to fling paint all over their faces and arms.  🙂

Owens Family

Owens Family

It rained and rained and rained and rained during this session.  We waited it out in alcoves of buildings and under umbrellas.  I was literally soaking wet when I got in my car.

Hilarious days.

Good thing this is my sister and we could just giggle about it.  And look, Sandi thought it was awesome.

I worked with this lovely lady for years and years.  Always the fun-loving, yet hard-working girl in the office, it was great to catch up with her and meet her family.

Her son is graduating this month from the U this month (Go Utes!) and I am in love with the school pride on display below.

Congrats!

Family Pictures: White Trash Style

Family Pictures: White Trash Style

Oh, the creativity and genius of Angie [Sweet Memory Garden].
I’ve known this amazing woman for over 9 years.  We met in my previous life.  She was one of those cherished clients of mine.  I was a fine paper rep, she’s a designer.

She is days away from delivering her 4th child and came up with this fun idea with her hubby for family pictures.  I was beyond honored to be asked.  And even more excited for an afternoon of fun.

Feast your eyes upon the White Trash Family Portrait.

You can see her edits HERE.

Erickson Family

Erickson Family

Meet Becki.

She is the lucky winner of the Let It Snow promotion.  And listen to how sweet she is! Instead of just getting her portraits taken, she gathered all 6 of her siblings (plus one hubby) to get family pictures.  She told me that they have not had family pictures in FOREVER.

Their parents have no idea.

What a great way to use your session!

Here’s the gorgeous family.  Seriously – I have never seen so many beautiful eyes in one family.  Wowza.

Boys and Girls.

The individuals.  Their parents are seriously going to love these.

And if you’re wondering, yes, I did call them by “purple scarf” and “pink scarf”.  And I was humiliated the whole time.  Ugh, I’m HORRIBLE with names!

Is this a good looking family, or is this a good looking family?  I mean, come on!  Thanks for coming out to play in the snow, Ericksons!  I had a great time meeting all of you.

Smith Family

Smith Family

Meet the Smith Family.  I was told that they do not have ANY family pictures with Valerie in them.  NONE.  She is 20-something.  So, I was really excited to take them out in the snow and grab a few shots.

Mama and Papa Smith.  Can I call them that?  Are they going to write me nasty-gram when they see this?  Perhaps, but it sounded nice at the time.  Also, Val and Shane.

Amber and Steve – These are the fabulous folks of Sawaya Consulting (who designed and developed this blog.)  There are serious pictures of them, but these are much more fun.  Steve is the quietest person you will ever meet – until you get to know him well, then he’s full of funny one-liners.  Amber is probably my best friend.  She’s amazing in every way, and I really don’t know how I would live without her.

And here are the girls.  Everybody say, “oooooohhhhh, cuuuuute.”

One of the finest families I’ve ever known.  Thanks for playing in the snow with me!

Clarken Family

Clarken Family
You know when you have your flash off camera, 6 feet off the ground, camera left, mounted to an already unstable tripod in a rocky riverbed? (This already sounds good, right?) And then you know how you walk past it after fixing a pose and accidentally knock it over so it falls that 6 feet, busts off the attachment, tumbles on some rocks and then right into the river? Yeah. That happened.
In front of the Clarken Family.
I tried to act all tough and tell them stuff like that happens on location.
Because it really does.
But I’ll be honest. I was a little sad mixed with a lot of embarrassed. Not only because my clumsiness was on display in front of clients, but because at that very location, 2 months ago, I dropped my 70-200 2.8 lens and broke it.
I can not be trusted with expensive toys.
The good (and miraculous) news is, that I put the flash in a bag of rice overnight and then in front of a fan for 2 days, and IT STILL WORKS!
And, we still got some really great pictures of this beautiful family.
Seriously, this family is GORGEOUS.  And funny.  So very funny.  I laughed almost the entire session (and yes, there are some blurry pictures that show how much I was giggling).

I love their outfits.  I think the cool grays are the perfect mix with the warm fall colors.  (and the snowy mountain in the background)

New Book Design!

New Book Design!

I like albums to be fairly simple. Classic, if you will. Designs that you look back on in 5, 10, even 20 years and don’t gag. That being said, I took a leap and bought this gorgeous album/book template and love it.

This is a new Hinged Book Design is called “Bold & Dashing”. Pictured in a 6×6 with a METALLIC! cover, this beauty is perfect for Seniors or Families and holds 22 of your favorite images. Also available in 8×8 and other sizes. Each page has a different design in several bold colors.

With only 5-7 business days of production, there is still plenty of time to order one as gifts for Christmas.

Perfect if you want to share your whole session with your loved ones, but don’t have wall space to hang 22 different images.
